We are using Jira-Slack integration via Halp app. Issues are created automatically from Slack messages in the channel.
Is there a way to open/view the link in Jira to the original Slack thread that created the issue?
Slack threads contain the links to the created Jira issues, but in a Jira issue I can't find a link to a Slack thread.
Hi Vitali,
I understand that you are wanting to be able be in Jira and be able to then click a link that takes you back to the slack conversation that this issue was created from in Halp. There is a way to do this.
First, you will need to create a custom field in Jira to hold this value. I suggest that you call the field something such as "Link to Slack thread" or alike.
Next you will need to also configure a custom field in Halp. Steps to do this are in https://plz.halp.com/article/0k6nt3fn9w-custom-fields
From that page it mentions Computed custom fields:
Computed - These are a special field type that Halp currently auto-generates, so you won't see this as an option when you create a custom field. Currently the two computed fields are: "Link to Triage Channel Thread" which creates a link back to the synced Slack thread that Agents can interact with End-users through, ...
This field type can be helpful for users with Jira or Zendesk integrations to sync that information to another platform. You'll want to make sure to map the fields on your integrations page. Find more information on that for Jira
Using this feature within Halp, you can sync this link to that custom field on the Jira issue. That way from Jira, you can link directly back to that Slack thread.
Try that and let me know if that helps.
Andy
Thanks a lot, Andy, this is really helpful, we will try.

Hi! Update here as we have made this process more streamlined.
You can connect 5 pre-calculated Jira fields w/ Halp. In order for them to sync, you just need to create custom text fields with the exact text provided below and add them to your "create screen" in Jira.
triageChannelLink
requesterChannelLink
ticketCreationMethod
createdAtComputed
originalMessageTime
If you added these fields after adding them to Halp, you just need to re-sync your Jira project's for the fields to appear.

Thanks!
Just what I was looking for!

How does this work now that Halp is integrated with Jira in Service Management? How would I set this up?

I would also love to know this.
I went from one organization that had HALP as a legacy to a new one setting up JSM for the first time, and not having this feature is terrible.
