Hello,

Need to get the Epic Link to populate on the Request/Ticket that triggers it.

I notice that within the Epic when a Child is created the Epic Link populates.  Need the Epic Link to populate on the original Ticket also.

Thank you

Hi @lapacquah.bryant - I'm not quite sure the purpose of your automation, but you would do something like this:

  • TRIGGER: Field Value Changed (Target End)
  • ACTION: Create Issue (Epic)
  • ACTION: Edit Issue (Epic Link)
    • {{createdIssue}}

Hello Mark,

Thank you.  The purpose of the Automation is to get the Details section to auto populate a few fields, one being Epic Link.

So far I was able to get a few fields to auto populate, however not the Epic Link.  Need it to populate on the triggered issue related to Epic when created.

See details of my current Automation rule.    The question is do I need to add Epic Link to the second part of Automation rule?  I had this added originally however the Epic Link did not populate.

Trigger: Field Value Changed (Training End)

Action:  Create a Epic

Action:  Link Epic

Link issue is not for epics.  That is only for creating links between issues (e.g. Blocks, Clones, etc.).  You'll instead want the Edit Issue Action with the {{createdIssue}} smart value for the the Epic Link value.
