Hi there,
We would like to create JSM issues based on emails received from an SAP system, but without any notification been send to this system.
So we thought disabling notifications in JSM for a certain customer/email address would make sense. For all other email addresses, we would like to keep using the default notifications.
The business case is that those emails are generated from another SAP system, and we do not want to ‘pollute’ that system with our notifications since there is no need to inform that 'customer' (SAP system).
I've tried to check automation in the hope that we could use a different incoming email address in JSM for this SAP system, and then exclude notifications via a separate notification scheme or via automation. But till now I haven't found anything what could be used to differentiate between.
Any ideas would be helpful.

Hi Ray,
I am not aware of a way to do that directly. What you could do is disable all notifications for the project, then create an automation rule that sends an email only for that customer/account.
Hi John,
We've faced exact problem, and you are correct. As I know only way to achieve this goal (not to send notifications for a specific mail) is to disable all notifications and create an automation. But in my case huge problem is that we have approx. 50 projects in our organization and it's almost impossible to include all groups and emails where we want to send notifications :(

I guess the question is, why are you catering to such a small group? Tyranny of the minority. The exceptions to the rule should not drive your policy.

I've voted two tickets about this problem. I'll share if it helps someone.
[JSDCLOUD-10406] Show last activity of a portal only customer - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products.
[JSDCLOUD-8420] Ability to blocklist e-mail addresses for sending email messages (outgoing notifications) - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products.

Not sure how either one of those tickets would solve your question/request.

Hi both, thanks for your help. Disabling notifications for all and activate again via certain groups sounds not realy good te me, especially since we only want to exclude 1 certain address.. The best for us might be to exclude the Atlassian notifications for processing in our SAP system. Luckily my collegue and myself are also responsible for this SAP system, so we can doe that ourselves :)
