Hello friends,

I want to manage SSL Certificates in Jira Assets. I want to configure reports to see SSL Certificates which are already expired and expiring soon.

I don't want to create a Asset custom field as there will not be Jira issue for this.

I want this report within assets only.

Even I can't configure multiple filters in Jira assets. That could solve the problem.

Any help appreciated.

Regards,

Sandeep

Hello, @Sandeep Desai

Managing SSL certificates within Jira Assets is a smart move, especially when it comes to keeping track of expiration dates. Let’s tackle this challenge together!

While Jira Assets doesn’t natively provide a direct way to create custom reports specifically for SSL certificates, I have a couple of suggestions that might help you achieve your goal:

Third-Party Plugins:
Consider using third-party plugins that enhance Jira’s capabilities. One such plugin is the License Manager plugin by Softlist. It’s designed to monitor domain and SSL certificate expirations right from your existing Jira instance see here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/App-Central/Monitor-Domain-amp-SSL-Certificate-Expiry-from-Jira/ba-p/1978551.

With the License Manager, you can:
Track Domains: Manage all your company’s domains within Jira. You’ll be able to see important details like registrar names and expiration dates.
Receive Notifications: The plugin can send notifications when a domain or SSL certificate is about to expire, ensuring timely action.
SSL Certificate Monitoring: Keep an eye on SSL certificates to avoid any unexpected disruptions caused by expired certificates.
Import & Export: Easily manage data related to domains and SSL certificates, including importing data from external sources and exporting for analysis or backup.
Custom Fields (Without Creating Jira Issues):
While you mentioned not wanting to create a custom field, consider using a custom field within the Asset configuration itself. You won’t need to associate it with Jira issues; it can exist solely within the Asset context.
For example, you could create a custom field called “SSL Expiry Date” and populate it with the relevant information for each asset. Then, you can use this field to filter and create reports.
Workaround: Asset Labels or Tags:
Although Jira Assets doesn’t directly support multiple filters, you can use labels or tags to categorize your assets.
Assign a label or tag like “SSL Expiring Soon” to assets with certificates that are approaching expiration. Then, you can filter assets based on these labels/tags to create your report.

I hope this info is helpful to you.

When you say "I can't configure multiple filters in Jira assets" have you tried an AQL query like the one below?

exipiryDate < now() OR expiryDate < now(+30d)
