We are aware that the icon at the top of the screen represents the issue type, however we were hoping to display the textual value of the issue type somewhere on the main issue screen (the "View" screen, not "New" or "Edit")...
Is this possible? I don't see a way to assign the "Issue Type" field to the screen at all.
Can you provide a screenshot to clarify your ask? In JSM project, you can access screen configuration setup via Project settings >> Screens to see the current screens setup against your issue types used in the project.
To create/managescreens configuration scheme at the system level, you will need system admin right using "Settings" >> "Issues"
You cannot add "Issue Type" field to the issue screen, as it is a default system field where it is automatically associated to issue created in your project. One can see the issue type by hovering over the issue type icon in the project UI only. Issue Type is not available via the Portal UI since the UI is based on Request Type.
Hope this makes sense.
