Hi,
I have a simple Service request with approvals request and I need the approver to fill out a text field (with info only they would know) when approving the request.
I cannot figure out how to do that simply.
Thanks,
Cyrille
Hi Cyrille,
You should be able to add a Transition screen to the transition based on the status when it is approved. Then put in a Validator to make sure the field is not empty.
Thanks for the guidance. Let me give it a shot and chime back.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
@John Funk it doesn't seem to work. upon reading the documentation it states :
"Transitions used by the approval step skip transition screens"
Any way around that?
All I need is for the approver to enter a comment really (simple text field) whether they approve or decline.
Thanks!
Cyrille

Ah, I forgot about that. Maybe add a transition screen to the previous step of the workflow. Also include a custom field with Approve or Decline. Based on that field value changing, create an automation rule that does an Approve.

Hi @John Funk , im also want to achieve the same things as Cyrille but somehow it not working or i misconfiguration some steps. Can you provide same suggestion for me? Here is the workflow that i intend to use and apply the above practice.
When the ticket change to the status Assessment that i want the approval to provide some comment or can provide value in a specific fields. Does that possible to do as well?

@Nguyến Wang - Welcome to the Atlassian Community! Is this a Jira Service Management project? Or a Jira Software/Business project? Is it a Company-managed project or Team-managed project?

Hi @John Funk , i think it was company-managed project since i dont see any title below on the project site but in the setting it show that the company-managed project have been toggle on.

What EXACTLY are you wanting to do? What is the exact use case? Based on what I know, I would say create an automation rule that does the things you say above when the issue is transitioned to that status.
