When I scan a QR code generated by Jira's built-in Asset Management tool (the "Assets" tab on Jira Service Management) I'm taken to a web page that is not set up for handheld device screens, and it has a banner on top that reads "You're in desktop view Open Jira app (best experience)".
My mobile browser is not configured to show the desktop version of the page.
I installed the Jira Cloud app on my phone, but when I tap on that link I get a toast notification inside the app that says "Something went wrong. Try again, or refresh the page".
Am I missing something? Should I have a different app installed? Do I need to configure any kind of permission in the admin dashboard?
To anybody who might come across this post later, this is expected behavior. Jira Cloud doesn't currently support assets, but there's an open feature request for assets to work on the app, which can be tracked here: JRACLOUD-79353. If this is something useful or required for you, make sure to leave your vote on the issue page and maybe add a comment with your specific use case.
Hi @Henrique Cotta ,
Our Mobile app Mobility for Jira currently supports selection of Asset options via scanning for both JSM portal and regular Jira issues. This is similar to Atlassian's app except that we also support the JSM portal.
We are working on enhancing this and will have much wider support available later this month. This will include the ability to open an asset (via scanner or by search), viewing and changing all of its attribute. This will be available first on iOS and a bit later on Android.
Please send a note to support@mobilitystream.com and we can provide more details and add you to the beta program if interested.
Kind regards,
The Mobility Team

I can't seem to find this functionality on my Android phone. Am I missing something, or is it just not rolled out yet?

Hi @Melissa Nielsen ,
This functionality was rolled out on Android as well and is available. Make sure you have the latest version of Mobility for Jira installed. You will find Assets functionality on the top left on your home screen (see screenshot). If you don't see it or running into issues please contact our service desk (support@mobilitystream.com) we are happy to help with this.
Kind regards,
The Mobility Team
