I'd like to use advanced search to find items that were in any of a list of sprints when the sprints started (i.e. the items that were part of the sprint commitment). I'd also like to do the "opposite" search, where I find any items that were added to the sprint after it started.
I know that the Sprint Report shows this. However, I'd like to aggregate the data from a longer time period. If I can use the search feature, I can then export all of the data to Excel (or elsewhere) in order to create some summary reports.
Hello @Justin Siemens
Jira does not have functionality to support that query natively.
Are you willing to consider using a third party app to achieve your requirement?
At this point, I'm not looking for a third party app. I'm OK to do some data analysis outside of Jira, if I can export the relevant information.
If I generate a list of Jira issues and export all fields, I can see which sprint(s) an item was a part of.
Let me ask the question from a slightly different perspective: Can I see 'when' an item was added to sprint (i.e., before or after that sprint started), based on exportable data?

Hello Justin,
No, you can't see when an issue was added to a sprint based on exportable data.
You would need to see the Issue History to see the entry for when an issues had a Sprint value added to the Sprint field. That information is not included in the native Export Fields option. Exporting Issue History also would require a third party app.
