We are migrating our curreny Jira Server instance to Cloud and one critical component that we are looking at is reimplementing Insight Discovery to cloud. We are checking ways how will be the peering connectivity of our on prem servers to Jira Cloud. Right now we've whitelisted their IPs on AWS security groups since we are on server. Been checking KBs and articles but wasnt able to find a way for Jira Cloud.
Also the export path how do we get that from Cloud when we're not the one managing it.
Appreciate it if you can help. Thanks!
Hi @Danisse Mae Gador ,
At this time there is no direct connectivity yet with Insight through Discovery in Cloud.
if you check here: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/what-are-the-differences-between-insight-in-cloud-and-server/ you can see that for Insight Discovery there is a checkmark but the results file needs to be uploaded manually. (so it's a manual import)
Is that what you mean (a way to upload/import it automatically) or is it something else?
Sort of I guess. But what I do not understand is what happens next after we install the discovery installer on the On Prem Server how does it connect with Jira cloud?

Well it doesn't really at this moment.
The discovery process generates a results file and you'll have to manually import that file (csv) in to Insight.
They are working on automating it like on premise but that's not done yet.

Right now the on-premise servers to where our Discovery is using proxy are we still using the same connection when migrating to cloud
