Hello,
Is there a way to sync the Azure AD Users that are only Members without the Guest accounts?
I tried to sync our distribution list group that only contains our internal employees without the guest accounts with no success.
After sync i could not login myself either anymore either so i don't know how it exactly looked like after the sync but that did not work while i did read it should work with a distribution list group.
I do have to say that the distri group i synced contained 3 groups with all the internal employees that are from different types instead of straight members in that one group.
Example: All Employees, Full time consultants, part time consultants.
So is there another way to sync only Members without the Guest accounts?
We only have around 80 employees but in Atlassian Users i have more then 400 accounts because of all the Guest accounts being synced with it which is not very clean and handy to work with.
I think @Connor has the most direct solution.
Another option could be to use a marketplace app like Admin Automation to suspend your guest users within the Atlassian user directory. Note: I build the Admin Automation app.
e.g. You could suspend all users in a group. Or you could suspend all users with a particular email domain, like all users with an @consultants.com email address.
Create a new security that only contains the 80 users you want synced with Atlassian. Assign that group to the Atlassian app in Microsoft Entra, remove any groups containing guest users that were previously assigned to the app. Wait for the provisioning sync to run, you should now have 80 active Atlassian users and the other "guest" Atlassian users should be deactivated.
