Hi,

I am using Jira service management for a team managed project. I have created  a ''Backlog'' as to do status on the Workflow so that every issue when created it automatically take this status:

Now, I see a column called ''Backlog'' is automatically created in the column and statuses section of the Jira and a status with 0 issues is added under it:

Unfortunately, on the active Scrum board now, I have a column called ''Backlog'' which appears as the first column on the board. However, I only want to see ''Prioritized'' column till ''Done'' column on my board. How I can configure my board so that it starts from ''Prioritized'' column but still I can assign all new issues created a ''Backlog'' status so that they show up on my Backlog and from there the team can go and choose which to prioritize?
many thanks!

Welcome @Ardalan Sepehri

You can move Backlog status to the unmapped column. When you do this, your Backlog column, it wouldn't make too much sense.

Thank you for your warm welcome! I saw that suggestion on internet but the problem is that I don`t have this column on Columns and Status page called ''Unmapped Column'' . I only have a section called ''Unassigend Issues'' as you see in the image I posted. I can not transfer any columns to this section and when I put issues under this section they will disappearr both from my board and my active sprint but what I want is to have a status called ''Backlog'' where all the newly created issues can take this status by default because they shouldn't show up on my active board but added to the Backlog.

@Ardalan Sepehri

Welcome to the community.  Please be aware that by default, JSM uses Queues for issue management, so the usage of Scrum board is not recommended.  The concept of Kanban/Scrum for issue mgmt is to support Jira Software Application project's issues.

Can you provide the rationale on why you decided not using Queues for JSM issue mgmt, so we can assist further better?

Thank you for your reply!
All I want to do is that when a new issue created, it goes to Backlog and do not take ''Prioritized'' status because I dont want the new created issues show up on the board (active board) because they are not yet prioritized and should be worked on according to the priorities. The problem I have now is that any newly created issue is automatically take ''Prioritized'' status and show up on the active board. Also as I mentioned I don't have ''Unmapped Issues'' column on the COlumns and Status page to put my issues there
