Hi there,
Some of our request types can be consolidated down to combine two or three into one as long as we can control field visibility based on an option selected from a drop down list.
What is the best practice for setting up conditional visibility based on other values on a form in JSM.
An example, we have a drop down that might be called 'Mode of Transport' and for simplicity it has two options, 'Car', 'Bike'
If you select Car there may be more fields revealled asking about your driving record or even the type of car or SUV you want.
If you select Bike there might be question about safety gear.
The point is based on what was selected in the mode of transport drop down different fields are displayed on the form.
thanks.
Hi Steven:
Assuming you are asking the "Form" (new functionality in JSM Cloud), then YES. In the Form builder UI, one can create different sections and group those fields which you want to display only based on specific value selected in other fields.
You will utilize "Show Section" prompt and change it to "Conditionally" and set up the field in the "When" prompt that control the display of your fields (ones you want to hide based on the field value selected).
Here is a link from Atlassian on using Forms (it used to be an add-on named Proforma, which was acquired by Atlassian) - https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/use-forms-in-jira-service-management/
Hope this helps.

We are stuck here as there fonts on the Jira fields and the 'forms' fields look visibly different when being displayed on the portal. With a company full of creatives and artists, it's a bit of a point that has been mentioned.
I'll look more at the functionality but I know what I am faced with here.
cheers

In general in the Cloud UI, if you keep field name regardless if it is used in JSM issue UI, Request Type Form's UI , Forms UI, if you keep it short and concise, then you will see less of the visual differences via the portal.
Best, Joseph
