When I logged in to the trial site that was used as the verification environment after a long time, the following message was displayed.

No you will not be billed. The garbage collector will eventually will remove the instance.

Correct. If you have companyAAA.atlassian.net which is suspended and companyBBB.atlassian.net which is active then only the later will be billed and only if it is not a Free tier.

yes, though they may delete Free sites that are inactive for many months. i don't have any confirmation of that though. What exactly are you concerned about being deleted?
