Hi all. I'm trying to create a Filter and Dashboard that breaks down as such:
-An Epic that has a list of Child Issues (Tasks)
--Each Task then has a list of Subtasks.

Is there not a way to have these broken down under one Filter that I can then bring into a Dashboard? Or will I need to create multiple filters for the Subtasks?

Thanks!

@Alex Senyo -

Welcome to the community.  Unfortunately - Out of the box via JQL filter you cannot obtain a listing of Epics with its child tasks and child tasks with its list of child tasks in that order..

Example - Search results to display Epic then its child issues, and finally a listing of subtasks associated in to the children.

The listing can be a listing of just EPIC with columns of Epic Link and Sub-tasks exposed.  if your filter query pulls all the issues, it cannot be listed in the above orders which I believe it is what you are looking for for your dashboard.

I recommend you to search Atlassian Marketplace (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/) for possible third party add-ons on reporting that can create what you wanted.

Sorry.

Hi @Alex Senyo

Try the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) gadget offered by our Great Gadgets app.

This gadget displays the issues from a Jira filter in a hierarchical order, in form of Epics > Stories, Tasks >  SubTasks along with their status.

All you have to do is to create a Jira filter that includes all the issues to be grouped, and then  to configure the gadget to use that filter.

Please note that this app offers many other gadgets that you will find useful. See the articles from our blog, to make an idea. I can be a great asset for your team or company.

I hope this helps. If you need any help with the configuration, please don't hesitate to contact us at support@stonikbyte.com.
