Error with attachments over 22k

I have Jira v8.20.1 hosted on a Windows server. I am using Edge browser (but have the same result in Chrome) and have a problem attaching files using either drag or browse. I have success with any file of any type as long as it it 22k or smaller. But all uploads of files of 23K or larger fail.  The pop up message is "File "upload_test_23.file" was not uploadedAn internal error has occurred. Please contact your administrator."  There are no errors in the atlassian-jira.log. In fact when this occurs I I see no response from the server (using Edge Inspect Network).

The System Attachment Size = 47.68 MB.

Are there any other steps for troubleshooting?

Hi @James Sloan

I will recommend checking your proxy. If the proxy doesn’t allow more than a certain amount to be transferred then you will run into this on the network itself.

Something like https://www.tecmint.com/limit-file-upload-size-in-nginx/amp/ as I have seen something like this before.

Good suggestion.  Even though I do not use a proxy for this application it made me think about other possibilities with the network.  I am remote so I am connected via Citrix Connect VPN. So I remoted to a server on the internal network and there was not a problem.  So I'll take this up with our VPN support group.

Thanks again for the idea!
