Error what adding user to a team

I get this error when I am trying to add him to an existing team:

"We can't add <name> They may not have access to teams in your organisation?"

The weir part is that I can create a new team, and in the create team dialog I can add the user to the team.

Has anyone experienced this before? It seems like it is not consistent.

I'm guessing we're here talking about Atlassian Teams?

Is this user you're trying to add already part of some team or are they not a member of any team at the moment? Also, do they have a license for at least one of the Atlassian products under that organization?

As far as I can see there are no specific limitations related to adding members to a team apart from users needing to be under specific/this organization.

To be honest, I've never experienced this particular issue.

Apart from here, you could maybe try to reach out to Atlassian Support as they can get access to your site and probably debug this quicker.
