Does Automation for JIRA (JSD) allow multiple matching triggers to the same automation?

Zans McLachlan September 10, 2020

I need to set up an automation for a service desk (JIRA 7.13.5 and JSD 3.16.5) where the same condition/action chain has multiple triggers.

At this time, my understanding is that I need to set up a separate Project Automation for each of these triggers and manually duplicate Action X (in this case, a customized notification) for each automation. This is suboptimal.

Current config:

  • Automation 1: If Issue is Created and issue matches JQL then perform action X.
  • Automation 2: If Issue is Updated and issue matches JQL then perform action X.

Ideal future config:

  • Automation: If Issue is Created OR Updated and issue matches JQL then perform action X.

Is this possible with Automation for JIRA or is there another solution.

Hi @Zans McLachlan ,

You can do this in Automation for Jira using our 'Multiple issue event' trigger:

Project automation - Code Barrel JIRA 2020-09-14 09-15-12.pngHope that helps!

Cheers,
Andreas
