Displaying Confluence Public Pages in Refined Themes

HI there.

I'm using Refined Themes for Jira Service Desk (server) and really happy with my content, permissions, functionality etc.  The product is very intuitive, but sometimes I'm not 100% certain on the best approach to achieve my objectives.

I'm trying to publish release notes, which I've done okay in a Public Confluence Space, but we really encourage our users to use our Portal as the 'front door'.

I can click thru' to Confluence, but would prefer to simply display the output on my refined themes page.

Can anyone suggest a simple way to do this. I'm not a techie, but can drive around most features as an average admin, so coding not a real option for me!

Thank you

Hi Paul!

Raj from Refined here, nice to hear that you're enjoying your Refined experience so far!

I might have something that could be useful for you, based on what you have described: In our Knowledge Base settings, we have a checkbox that allows you to enable Page Trees - this would let the user browse through the linked KB space within the KB result popup within your Refined JSD. Here's some documentation on this: https://docs.refined.com/display/RTJSDS/Knowledge+Base+Settings#KnowledgeBaseSettings-DisplayPageTree

You could also copy a KB article link from the popup, and use a Navigation module (https://docs.refined.com/display/RTJSDS/Navigation+modules) to link straight to this from within your JSD helpcenter.

You're welcome to reach out to us over at support.refined.com at any time if you have any more questions for us!

Hi Raj

Thank you so much for responding to my question.
I've amended the settings, and really happy with the format of the search responses, but this isn't quite the solution I was looking for (but equally happy you advised me of this feature, it looks great now it's enabled, and very slick!)

So what I've currently done looks like this on our site;

The Release Notes section on the right is a Knowledge Base link

The contents are quite succinct (20 pages).

Authorisation on both sites is the same user account, so you can link through and then see the documents, but I want the documents to display instead.

Is this possible?

Thank you

Paul

Hi Paul,

You're very welcome, nice to hear that this has been of some help!

The Knowledge Base module should display pages (articles), not just the Space link, so it might be something to do with the setup in this case. Do you have the label "ReleaseNotes" on all the child pages under that particular space? If not, could you try add the label and see if this helps?

Hi Raj

With your guidance and suggestions I have now found a solution that works for me.

In the Confluence Page, I have created each document as a new page, in a flat file structure, and used Labels to display the pages, and not added a Label to the actual Space.

The end result is perfect.

When the window pops out, you see a view of all documents available and can then select it from the right hand pane.

This is how I structured the Confluence Page.  As you see it is very flat.

Thank you for your guidance and support.

Kind regards
