Display of custom field for guest user on customer portal

Luca Giannantonio March 6, 2024

I worked a few month ago on our customer portal and my partner said it was impossible to make assets custom field visible for user who are not logged on the portal.

I tried again today and did not find a way to get our custom field visible for unlogged user.

So here is the view when you are logged (custom field is "Applications"):

Here is the view when you are as a guest :

As you can see, the field "Applications" disappear.

I tried many things, on the customer permissions but doesn't seems to come from there.

I also tried to change some settings on the custom field like the scheme that apply.

I maybe though it comes because guest user can't access our Assets or maybe it is impossible to make Assets fields visible for unlogged user.

Hi Luca,

Running into the same issue here. Apparently an assets field is only visible to logged in users on the portal which creates big issues when you set that assets field as mandatory because a non logged in user can't even create a ticket.

Not sure why this is configured this way and haven't found a solution yet.

Kind regards,

Dirk

Hi Dirk,

This is the reason why all our request now have at least a resume and description needed so at least anyone can create a ticket.

But this create a huge job for the desk team to apply all our filter after.

Thanks for the feedback, hope we will soon hear something about this from Atlassian.

Great day,

Luca
