Difference between Users and Customer

Hi There,

 

can anyone please tell the exact difference in details in between the below roles

a) Users
b) Customers

Hi @Dinonath Khan 

thank you for your question. To clear things up, these are two different products and they share different user roles. 
I'll try to explain as simple as possible:

Jira Service Management

  • Customer = A non licensed user, who is only allowed to raise requests via the portal or email
  • Agent = A licensed user, who is able to work with JSM projects and process customer requests

Jira

  • User = A licensed user, who is able to fully use Jira projects (formerly Jira Software and Work Management)

@Dinonath Khan -

@Kai Becker provided a well written definition.  Just keep in mind that Customers for JSM are free/unlimited while Agent required actual license.  On the Jira side, all users must be licensed as there are no concepts of "Customer" account for the product unlike of JSM.
