Hi, I am trying to customise our customer portal so that we can have one section for Retail customers and one for Commercial customers, so they would have their own individual Portal Groups. Within these 2 portal groups there would be more portal groups for each product.
So just to clarify.
We have 1 customer portal. Then there will be 2 portal groups - RETAIL and COMMERCIAL.
Within RETAIL and COMMERCIAL I want to have other portal groups for each product, as each product will have multiple request types and this would be a disaster to just have so many request types for all different products listed on one page.
Alternatively, if this is not possible. Would it be possible to create 2 separate customer portals, but have them linked in some way, that all the tickets are available under one project? So essentially to customer portals for one project.
Any suggestions or answers would be greatly appreciated.

As you mentioned having multiple layers or Portal groups is not possible. You can only have a single layer with then the Request types underneath.
Also having multiple portals would mean multiple projects so unless you are happy with automating the move of the issues each time to a consolidated project this also doesn't sound like fun/a good option.
One thing I can think of is to use a marketplace app like Refined. It allows you much greater customization over your portal so this could be a solution.
Yes, it's another investment but to be honest I think one worth it. I'm not affiliated with the company in any way but just like using the product.
