Custom field description missing on create issue screen

Edited

I have a bunch of custom fields where I have written some nice descriptions in all of them.

On the View/Edit edit screen of a change request, I can hover my mouse over the "i" icon and the description text is displayed ok.

On the Create issue screen I don't see the "i" icon or the description text anywhere. This is the case both via the portal and via Jira interface.

I know I can write a descriptive text on the text field itself for each request type, but that is quite cumbersome.

Kind regards

/Karsten

Hi @Karsten Markmann

The default field descriptions doesn't work in Jira Service Management, you need to write them in your request forms.

Go to your Project Settings > Request Types > (Select Request Type) > Click on the field where you want to add description & you should get a screen like below where you can add the display description.

This way you should be able to add the description.

Thanks Vishal for taking you time to answer my question.

Sad that custom filed description doesn't work in Jira, but OK workaround.
