Create a log-in free portal for customer support

Edited

We'd like to create a basic customer support portal where anyone can submit a request. Now the portal requires a username and password.

Failed to follow the instruction given on this page, https://confluence.atlassian.com/servicemanagementserver/setting-up-login-free-portal-access-1289420880.html

Anyone has succeed? Requiring customers have an access to Atlassian is non-intuitive.

Yes, it has worked fine for me, with several clients.  Where is it going wrong for you?  Are you skipping parts of it?

Hi Nic,

I simply don't find the option "Configuration" for JSM.

To allow login-free access for your whole instance:

  1. Go to Administration > Applications.

  2. Under Jira Service Management, select Configuration.

That suggests that you are not logging in with an account that has administration rights.

Interesting! Sorry for the late response.

This is what I see on the administration page, and I've been given admin rights. Screenshot 2023-11-09 at 12.39.32.png

That's not Jira admin, it's site admin.  You need to configure this in Jira.

That's so true. Being unable to edit outgoing mail, I guess I don't have enough permission?
