When a user attempts to add a Jira link onto a Confluence page it gives the error
Received the following HTTP error code from the server:504
Please advise.
Thanks,
Shawn J
@Bill -
The first place you need to check to ensure that Application Links setup at the system level via Settings >> Products >> Application Links is configured properly and displayed "Connected" to your Confluence application. On the same note, you will also need to verify on the Confluence side too.
Here is the link for application links - https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/use-applinks-to-link-to-atlassian-products/
504 error is related to gateway timeout - server error response code indicates that the server, while acting as a gateway or proxy, did not get a response in time from the upstream server that it needed in order to complete the request.
Hope this helps.

Hello we are not currently under a cloud environment. When checking the Applications > Application Links page the status is Network Error. We currently have locally signed certificates installed on our server until our normal certs are applied.
Thank You for the quick response.

Joseph,
No both Jira and Confluence are on-prem on the same server. I found this article https://confluence.atlassian.com/kb/how-to-import-a-public-ssl-certificate-into-a-jvm-867025849.html suggesting to import the SSL into JVM but I don't have Java installed on the server to complete the process. The certs for the two servers is in the trusted store on the server, I checked the URLs and their bindings in IIS everything looks ok.
Thanks.
