The customer (Cloud) would like the have their own colors for the comments for the following cases:
Customer Feedback
Internal Feedback
System messages
Is it possible for instance to get the Customer Feedback covered with blue background, the Internal Feedback covered with yellow background and the system messages covered in another color.
Or is there an app that can manage this?
Is it possible or impossible?
Thanks for your answers
Hi @Andreas Gölles,
welcome to the community!
To the best of my knowledge, this isn't possible, at least not within Jira's native issue view.
(AFAIK, Marketplace apps don't have access to Jira's native comments section, but in theory could render their own comments section - so it wouldn't be technically impossible for an app to offer this. This being said, I'm not aware of an app that would fulfil this exact requirement.)
I very much acknowledge that this isn't exactly what you have in mind, but putting it out regardless in case it is interesting: Comment coloring would be available in the app that my team and I are working on, however (currently) only for specific comments, like e.g. an issue's first comment or last comment. I'll provide more information below.
Best,
Hannes
... and to expand on my last point: If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you may want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with,
It also comes with a number of advanced features, including support for conditional formatting. With conditional formatting, you can define conditions on your issue fields, and if a condition is fulfilled, define the background or text color of either the entire issue row or a particular cell.
With these, you can build a view like e.g. this in just a couple of clicks:
Conditional formatting also plays well with JXL's other advanced features, such as support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), or sum-ups.
As mentioned above, this would currently only work for selected comments (like e.g. the first or the last one), but it's the closest that I can think of.
Any questions just let me know!
