I tried a few things to get the value provided by the fieldkey from a from into the ticket summary via automation. but it still keeps empty.

this is what i tried

{{issue.forms.23daeea3-cc04-4164-998b-b3187119db75.typeB.label}}

it should add 1 to 4 values at once. depends on the checked boxes.

for normal radio buttons this works perfect but not for checkboxes.

Hi @Yannik ,

I see you're trying to pull checkbox values into the ticket summary using Jira Automation. While radio buttons work fine since they return a single value, checkboxes return multiple values as an array, which might be causing issues in your automation rule.

Alternative Solution: Smart Forms for Jira
With Smart Forms for Jira, you can easily map checkbox selections to the issue summary without struggling with complex automation rules. Here's how:

How to Add Checkbox Values to Ticket Summary with Smart Forms

  1. Create a Form in Smart Forms for Jira
    • Add a Checkbox field for multiple selections.
  2. Map the Checkbox Field to the Issue Summary
    • Go to Form Settings → Create New Isuue
    • Select Summary as the field to map values.
    • Map the checkbox responses accordingly.Screenshot 2025-02-18 at 11.41.36.png
  3. Submit the Form & See the Summary Update
    • When a user selects multiple checkboxes, the values will be automatically formatted and added to the summary.

Why Use Smart Forms?

Handles multi-select fields seamlessly (no complex scripting needed).
Automatically maps responses to Jira issue fields (like Summary, Description, etc.).
Supports dynamic pre-filling and automation for structured request handling.

If you’d like a step-by-step guide, I’d be happy to share more details!
