Changing users email address

Hi there

We are changing our email addresses to another verified domain on our Jira instance. Lets say to The company that aquired us (Xyz) also has Jira instances on their end (we are changing to their domain). We have not claimed accounts as we do not want them to recieve the emails yet but they have added the verification for us for the domain.

On changing the users emails, some of them got the verification links and they have managed to login using the new email (after reseting the password) BUT the issue is 2 users tried verifying but ended up logging in with the new email to a new Atlassian account it seems. Since it seems new with the email, they have went and deleted the accounts as it had the email we want to use. I still see their emails on our Jira instance.

Please advise if we could Confirm that there are 2 accounts for the users and if so the deletion they did can be done sooner so we can rename the existing users email from to

Thank you

same issue here, is there a solution for this? why is so hard to have an option for the user to change his email address?

Hi @Yatish Madhav ,

did you find a solution for changing email addresses for one claimed domain to another claimed domain? We are facing similar difficulties.

Hi @Yatish Madhav,

I would recommend you create a ticket directly with Atlassian support for this. They will be able to investigate the best path forward with access to your data and give proper advise on the migration path.

Choose migration support as ticket type or technical issues related to Atlassian Access.
