Hi @Shahzad Iqbal,

Short answer: no. These project types have quite different feature sets. However, you can create a new project of the desired type and migrate your issues into it.

See this support article for more details on how to address this.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, @Walter Buggenhout

Your purposed Solution is the Ultimate / Last Step in my planning.

What I need to know that is there a Configuration Setting which we can Change so that it becomes the desired one e.g. like Changing / Updating the value of Project Type Field to the desired one

As mentioned in my first couple of words: no 😅 - there is no configuration option for this. As I tried to explain, there is a lot of differences behind these different project types.

@Shahzad Iqbal

I agreed with @Walter Buggenhout - To supplement his statements, here are a few key things that you need to focus on -

  • It is recommended one should just create a JSM project as the JS and JSM projects are completely a different usage model/setup.
  • Only users with JSM agent licenses can access work against JSM issues.  JSM agent license is different then the JS license.  It has a separate costs.  Any non-agent users (i.e. customers can only access issues via the portal UI and not the project UI)
  • By default, one will manage issues in a JSM project via queue model, and the concept of SCRUM/KANBAN mgmt for issues should not be used within JSM.

Hope this also helps.

Hi All

Atlassian is addressing this issue, as discussed with their support team:
The limitation stems from hard-coded settings in each template that restrict manual changes to the project type. Manually altering the project type could disrupt certain functionalities, which is why this feature is not currently supported.
I recommend watching and voting on it to receive updates and confirmation once it’s available to our customers. You can also add a comment to the feature request to explain your specific use case to the developers.
