Change config for multiple approvers to all be mandatory approvers, rather than 1 ony

Frank Cross November 8, 2021

Hi, the team is creating Changes, adding multiple approvers, but the default setup appears to need only one of the approvers to approve. Can I set a change to require ALL approvers, rather than any one of many, to progress through the workflow  ?

Hi @Frank Cross. Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Yes, you can. If you are in a company-managed project, you can look at Add an approval to a workflow. If you are in a team-managed project, see Add an approval to a request type in team-managed projects. Either one, you should be able to select the status you want to approve or decline and configure the number of approvers required, including all approvers.

Thanks Ivan. Will check this out

Hi @Frank Cross

As an alternative try to use the add-on Business Process Manager developed by my team.

We've just released the Approval step specifically for these tasks.

Here, you can select a group of users to get the simultaneous approval of all members of the group. Or select multiple groups and/or individual users for consistent approval.

Also, you can set up changing issue status after all chosen Approvals have been made decision (Approve/Reject). Or leave the task in the same status.

Hope it helps.
