I am trying to find a way to build pre set categories within a JSM Business Company Managed Project. I am struggling to do so. When I try to build a new project off of this one it does not keep those pre sets. I know from a reporting standpoint this will provide better reporting. Does anyone know how to make this happen for me? or know of a better way to categorize for reporting.
Hello @Adrian Bass
Based on your image you are working with a Jira Work Management project. That is a project type that is available with the Jira Work Management product and the Jira Software product, but not with the Jira Service Management project.
The Category values in Jira Work Management projects are project-specific and are not considered part of the project configuration that can be shared when you make a new project.
The values would need to be added to each newly created project.
I am not aware of a REST API endpoint for that, but somebody more knowledgeable about the API may know more. Nor am I aware of a way to copy the values from one project to another via Automation Rules, but there are also people in this community that know more tricks in Automation Rules than I do.
