Automatically move from resolved to closed.

jlee April 6, 2021

Hello Community,

I'm very new to Jira and currently have a basic understanding of the functionality.

Can someone help me out with this problem? I need to automatically transition to a "CLOSED" status on tickets that have been in "RESOLVED" status for 3 days based on the calendar, (excluding weekends and holidays).

@jlee - hi!

Consider project automation.

Go to your project settings, then click "Automation".

Is your Jira project a Jira Service Management project? You should have access to an "IT Service Management" automation library. Try "resolve issues due to inactivity".

  • adjust the automation's WHEN so that its JQL is "Resolved"
  • adjust the automation's THEN action to transition your issue to "Closed"

Good luck! šŸ™
