Automatically add users to Jira Service Management - Customers

Shanara Sadeque September 19, 2023

Hi

Atlassian have recently implemented a change whereby users need to be manually added to "Jira Service Management - Customers" to be able to access the forms in our portal.

The previous process was that anyone who was in our Jira instance had access to the portal.

Is there any way to automate so that all new starters are added to "Jira Service Management - Customers" when they are added to the Jira instance?

Hi @Shanara Sadeque ,

The change you mentioned is correct, but it not compulsive to add the JSM Portal user as a customer in JSM, in fact if the user signs up they will be onboarded as Portal Customers (different option available under User Managements), this is quite dependent on your "Customer Access" settings though :

Other option is available under "User Access settings", here you can configure the users to be added as "Customers"
