Automatically Adding Users to JSM Organization

Hi,

Context:

• I use JSM for our internal staff. Everyone has the same domain.
• I use Azure AD as the Identity Provider. All users are managed through Azure AD.
• All users information are synced from Azure AD (Name, Jobtilte, email address, Department...)

Questions:

So when I map users attributes, I mapped Azure (user.Department) to Jira(user.Organization) hoping that it would automatically adding organization in Jira Service Management but it didn't. I realized that Organization under User's profile and Organization under JSM are different.

Is there a way to sync them?

Are you using JSM for other email domains/organizations - or just one?

Question would be is there a need to add them to the Organization if it's just for internal users all in one domain?

If this is the case, then from an access perspective you could...

• Give all users the access role "Jira Service Management - Customer" by default - see this article for some good information
• Give the Group linked to this access role the customer permission in your JSM Project(s)
• Restrict access to your portal as necessary - https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/customer-permissions-for-your-service-project-and-jira-site/

...and avoid Organizations completely?

If not, I think you could still use this to give users access to relevant Projects - but then add them to the Organization as required via...
