Associate new Issue type schemes to a new Project

I created a new Issue type schemes and want to associate it to the my Project. The Project is a new one and it's a Software Project.

I tried to go to Project Settings and add issue type, but i can't choose the Issue type schemes I created. Only choose a default one or create a new one.

The other way round doesn't work either. If I try to go to Jira Settings / Issues / Issue type scheme and choose my created Issue Type scheeme and want to associate it with a project, my project doesn't appear in the project list:image.png

What do I have to do?

Thank your for your help

Hi Tiziana - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

It looks like this is probably a Team-managed project. Those projects are stand alone and cannot use shared Schemes, including the Issue Type Scheme - those are only for Company-managed projects.

I created a company-managed project and now it works. thank you !

Hi @Tiziana Pisenti ,

Can you try to Enter in your project.

  • In the left menu go to  >> "Project Settings"
  • Then click >> Summary
  • In the Issue Types Sections on your right, click in the Scheme that now is applied.
  • Then in the top corner right, click "Actions" >> Use a different Scheme.
  • Chose the new Scheme and Click OK
