Assist Integration with Service Portal won't ping to customer channel

I have an online service portal for my Service Management project. I also have Assist synced to a public customer Slack channel and a private agent Slack channel.

 

When a new request is submitted via the online service portal, a copy of the request is pinged to the agent channel. It does not ping to the customer Slack channel, which is the functionality that I want.

 

How do I get requests entered via the online portal to ping to the Assist integrated customer Slack channel?
