Adding Wikimarkup to the description of a new issue with automation

Damian Martin June 27, 2022

I have an automation rule which creates a new issue and I want the description to use the wiki markup rather than plain text.  The textbox on the automation screen does not display any of the wiki markup controls as you would see when creating the content through the normal process using the Create issue button.

thanks

@Damian Martin -

Although in the automation rule setup, you don't see the necessary menu bar in the text box for Description

You can still use the markup syntax to create your values for the Description field accordingly.

Example -

In my rule I have the following for the description field -

2022-06-27_9-07-18.png

*Hello*  (Making the value Bold faced)

h2.Hello2 (Using the wiki markup for header 2 formatted text)

The resulting display will follow the markup syntax accordingly -

In case you don't have the markup syntax reference, here is the link for you - https://confluence.atlassian.com/conf62/confluence-wiki-markup-902074409.html

Hope this helps.
