Hello,
i am working on hiding a Jira instance from search engine robots and found this article:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-configure-jira-for-google-indexing-278691991.html
I will try this, but i can also see the login page from the SD portal in the google search results:
https://my.jira.instance/servicedesk/customer/user/login
Id be surprised if the article above also does something for the service desk.
Any idea how to fix that?
Thanks
Jens
That KB is really intended to help admins insert a specific google tag for their content. If you want to remove your site from google search results, try this KB instead: Removing a JIRA instance from Google results
I believe these steps should be sufficient to remove both Jira and Jira Service Desk page results on the same address.
There is also a related thread about removing your site from google search results in https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/How-do-I-stop-Google-from-indexing-JIRA-work-tickets/qaq-p/391656 in it Alexander lists the steps he took within Google's webmaster tools as well to file a removal request.
Thank you Andrew,
we already placed the robots.txt but the service Desk page keeps being indexed.
We'll look into solving this using the Webmaster Tools.
have a great Day
