A comment was added automatically to a closed ticket

teusner February 12, 2021

We are using the JIRA Servicedesk and had several tickets, which closed but a comment was added automatically. I cannot find anything in the project settings, that hints towards such a fuctionality and it is quite annoying.

The comment stated, that "we" the JIRA Servicedesk "have not heard from you in a while".

It looks like I wrote the comment but I did no such thing.

has anyone experienced something similar or knows where these comments come from ?

@teusner

Be sure to check both the automation settings and the legacy automation settings. If you go to Project settings > Automation you should see both of those.  The rule you're talking about appears to be a templated rule that can be added to the legacy automation.

Just found the Automation in the Legacy part. Deactivated all rules there to avoid further complications. Thanks for the quick answer.

Thank you for this!!

This resolved the exact issue I had on another project. A ticket added an internal comment with my name on a linked issue.

I *know* I did not create/enable the legacy rule and its odd how it got set in a project with my username (however I am the project owner for the project but odd how it got enabled). I have disabled it and things are working well again with no *surprises* on my name creating comments.

THANKS!!!
