Why am I unable to link JSM Tickets to Opsgenie Alerts?

When trying to link a JSM request to a Opsgenie Alert I get the following message:

But why?

To be able to link Jira Service Management requests to Opsgenie Alerts you must first have Incident Management enabled on the Service Project.

To do this:

  1. Navigate to the Service Project
  2. Select Project Settings
  3. Select Features
  4. Toggle on Incident Management

After that you will need to create or assign an Incident Request Type to the Incidents Category.

To do this:

  1. Open Incidents from the front of the Service Project
  2. Select Assign or Create Request Type
  3. After doing this your Jira Incident Issues will be available to link to your Opsgenie Alerts.

Please note that it is currently not possible to create JSM requests from an Opsgenie Alert or link other JSM Tickets besides Incidents to Alerts manually.

Here are the Feature Requests for these abilities as well:

Additionally, as you can only link JSM Incident Requests with the incidents and alerts in Opsgenie, you can however create JSM Issues from Opsgenie Alerts automatically (and from different Issue Types using the JSM Integration). This would utilize the JSM Cloud Opsgenie integration, specifically using Request Creation Rules from the setting: Create and update requests with Opsgenie alerts that are created by other integrations

I hope this helps!
