Hi Community!
We’re happy to announce that we will commence the rollout of our updated project settings navigation in Jira Service Management on October 14th. The new navigation makes it easier to scan and find what you’re looking for, and aligns more closely with other Jira projects. Over the coming weeks, you’ll start seeing the updates to the project settings navigation in both company-managed and team-managed projects.
A big shout-out to our early access program (EAP) participants who over the last couple of months requested access to, and explored the updated navigation. The extremely valuable feedback these participants provided has helped us to:
understand our customers' different preferences regarding the ordering of items in the navigation
identify and fix some bugs
validate and refine the changes to ensure the navigation updates meet the needs of customers and partners.
To explore the updates, all you’ll need to do is go to your company-managed or team-managed service project’s Project settings, then browse the updated navigation items on the left.
You’ll notice we’ve made several changes that we are confident will lead to increased efficiency and a better overall experience for admins:
Related items are now in groups – considerably reducing the number of items displayed upon landing in project settings. These groups can be expanded and collapsed as required, allowing you to hide items and focus on the task at hand.
Clearer labels for some items – give a better indication of what to expect on pages. And the labels of items are now the same in team-managed and company-managed projects.
Consistency in layout and patterns – that align across different Jira projects, meaning Jira users will have a similar experience whether they’re using Jira or Jira Service Management.

While some labels and locations of items might have changed, we haven’t changed what’s on the settings screens themselves, so for now, how you update your settings stays the same.
Give it a try and let us know what you think. We hope you’ll agree with majority of our EAP participants that this is a positive step towards improving our navigation and making it easier to find the settings you’re looking for. You can drop any questions or feedback here in response to this post and we’ll get back to you!
Kind regards,
