The remaining approvers lose access when the ticket is approved or rejected

When a ticket is Waiting for approval, all the Approvers can access the ticket, however, after its approval, only customers involved should have access to it (Reporter/ Request Participants or members of the Organization if shared).

Please follow this workaround for the feature request ticket Remaining approvers lose access when the ticket is approved or rejected - when only one approval is required.

Workaround

If it is required for the approvers to keep accessing the ticket after its approval, they should be added as request participants on the ticket.

With the following automation, whenever a ticket requires approval, the automation will execute and all the approvers will be added as Request Participants to the ticket.

AddRequestParticipant.png

  • The rule will be triggered when "Approval Approval required"

  • Edit the Request Participants field

  • It will keep all the Request Participants from the ticket and add the Smart Value {{approval.addedapprovers}}, which is the Approvers that were added to the ticket

Nice workaround!

I never really considered approval ownership like this.

Thanks for the workaround!

Did this, but issue is still not available to the user via the Jira Service Managememt portal:

This error page appears:

Thanks Lucas for the article. It spares us a lot of time on explaining users why they are unable to access those tickets :)

I have rolled out the solution, but am experiencing an issue where the approvers are now receiving all updates on the tickets for which they have been added as approvers, since they are now request participants. Can this notification be stopped for the approvers?
