Hey Atlassian Community!
We're launching object schema templates for Assets as promised! π
Get started faster than ever in Assets with an initial three new object schema templates - IT Asset Management, People, and Facilities. These templates contain a variety of relevant object types based on your needs, giving you a head start as you build out an effective database.
These templates are also designed to work alongside each other - in this case, forming the βWhat' (IT Asset Management), the βWhoβ (People), and the βWhereβ (Facilities) of an effective IT asset management database. Learn more about how to build an IT asset management database.
Get started with confidence: Use customizable, pre-set data structures that enable you to quickly populate your CMDB, for a more straightforward experience when building out your schemas for your service teams. π
Standardize your asset data across your organisation: Help your team to collaborate more effectively, inform decision-making processes, and improve service delivery. π
Start off with best practices baked in: These templates have been designed to harness industry best practices with expertly designed templates so you can optimize your asset tracking from the get-go. β
From your Jira Service Management site, select Assets > Create schema (you need to have the permissions required to create schemas). Choose your schema (try the IT Asset Management to start), tweak it to fit your particular organisation's requirements, and start creating or importing your objects.
Weβll begin rolling out the changes from the week commencing 3 July 2023. Because we are releasing this update incrementally, you might not see changes in your experience right away, but weβre expecting to have this update completely rolled out by August.
If you have any feedback, questions, or any tips you've discovered while using the templates - please leave a comment below or use our feedback portal. Let's make the most of this powerful tool together. πͺ
Happy asset managing!
