import service desk in a existing jira

Monizze IT May 16, 2019

Hello,

if we have a jira and a jira service desk instances that are separated, then we want to merge them. I suppose we do an export of service desk and import it to jira.

Is It possible?

Why, because we don't want to expose publicly our jira now but we want to expose service desk. And it's possible that we want to merge it later.

thanks.

Hi @Monizze IT ,

it would be possible to merge both instances, but in this case you can't do a full export of Jira: you would need to export every project then import them into the other Jira instance. You would also need to manually copy any custom configuration from the first Jira to the second one.

There are some add-ons that can do the work for you however, like Project Configurator or Configuration Manager.

Let me know if this helps,
