I have the same question as the OP - see screenshot. In my case, clicking "Save" does nothing...how do I recover the unsaved comment?
Hello Erin,
Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!
Searching for bugs or similar cases, I didn't find anything that could help us.
As a test, can you please click on "Reply to customer" to check if it shows any text?
Is it happening to all tickets?
If you add any other information and save, does it work?
Regards,
Angélica
Hi Angelica! After reading your suggestions I went back to the ticket to do some more digging. Here's what I found:
In the same ticket I typed another comment, then went and edited the description (which is what I did the other day). Clicked Save (check mark) and scrolled to the comment section. My comment was gone.
I went and edited the description again, saved, and came back to the comment section. My comment was gone again.
Edited the description again, saved, and came back to the comment section. My comment was gone again.
So TL;DR (too late) pressing M to open the comment box causes the "You have an unsaved comment" issue, but refreshing the page and clicking either comment link *should* work to bring back the original comment. I was too afraid to try all this yesterday (I thought navigating away from the page/refreshing would be sure to lose the comment) and now I wish I had! I also can't recall if I pressed M yesterday in this instance, but I do remember noticing the note to push M (I am new to Jira Service Desk) and pushing it to leave a comment at some point...so it's possible.
Additional notes:
Hope this helps someone else! And I'll be sure to report back if this happens organically to me again, and how it went.
