I'm developing and interface REST and one requirement is to change the Jira Service Desk issue type. Is there any method that can be done respecting the rules of the workflow or do I need to set the issue type and Workflow field Id.

There is a similar question to change an issue type within Jira. Alexey posted an example of how to get the "editmeta" and from there PUT the issue type to a new ID.
