This rule checks if the assignee of an issue is not in the watcher list, then add that person to the watcher list.
This is to make sure that if the assignee is changed, the original assignee is still across this issue.

I'm unable to make this rule work. I believe the smart value I'm using is not valid {{assignee.displayName}}

Is there a different smart value for the wacther list?

Hi Gil,

Thanks for reaching out!

The smart value you are looking for is {{assignee.accountId}}. Let me know if this worked for you. Otherwise, feel free to reach out if you need anything else!

Cheers,

HI @[deleted]

Thanks for your reply.

Should this smart value be used in the IF condition as well?

Edit: updating my question.

For the Advanced Compare Condition, should the first value be:

{{issue.watchers.accountId}}

condition: does not equal

Second value:

{{assignee.accountId}}

?

You've got that exactly right! :) If you need any more help with your rule, let me know!
