In Jira Product Discovery there's a field called Goal ("The goals this idea helps the team achieve") and there seem to be some built-in options: "Learn this tool" "Increase revenue" "Win enterprise customers" "Delight users" "Become a top rated product' and "Expand horizons". I can select one of those pre-existing goals, but if I go to Field settings and Search options, there's no option to set my own custom Goals to assign to ideas. Am I missing something? Is there a way to add my own custom Goals for the Discovery project?
@Hermance NDounga, what rights do I need to request from the Jira admin to be able to edit goals? I understand that the ability to pick a goal I have created is coming soon, but in the meantime, I'd like to at least edit the current options. Thank you.
Hello Joyce,
If you have a field named "goals" in your project, then you need to be project admin to edit this field.
Another project admin can grant you this permission, it doesn't need to be a Jira admin.

@Hermance NDounga, could you tell me which type of rights I need to ask to the jira admin to be able to edit goals or select a goal I have created with Jira Goals? I'd like to use them in my JPD view. Thank you.

If you have created Goals using Atlas https://www.atlassian.com/software/atlas/goal-tracking, these goals aren't yet available, but we are soon releasing them. Stay updated on this community group;, we will announce it around next month.

Hello Joyce,
Atlas Goals are't available yet in Jira Product Discovery projects, but we are currently in the process of releasing this integration.
Stay tuned in this community for when we will announce this integration.

When clicking on the header in a list, you get these three dots, and you can select "Edit field"
You'll be provided with this in the sidebar. You can add nex option below the existing ones, and delete the existing ones.
If you don't see these editoptions/add options, it means you don't have the necessary rights. In that case, you can contact the person who created the project on your behalf.

I have a similar problem. The "+ Add options" option is not appearing, but I have the necessary permissions, as I am the creator of the project.
But I still no longer have access to add options. This started today, as I had access before.

I encountered a similar issue as you did. Have you managed to resolve it?

Hi @Alaina Gardner and welcome to the Community!
These goals come from Atlas and can be managed there. It is a separate product, free to use.
Hope this helps!

Is this also why I don't see the options mentioned here: https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/product-discovery/guides/fields/overview#how-to-create-edit-fields (under "Formatting beautiful fields") when I hover over any field option and click the three dots as it says? What I see is limited compared to what's shown in the guide.
Field settings for me have the emoji option grayed out, and no color options!
TYIA for your help.
