Restricting access to AGILE sprints

I want only a SCRUM Master to be able to add or remove items from a Sprint.

The KB article https://confluence.atlassian.com/agile067/jira-agile-administrator-s-guide/jira-agile-jira-configuration#JIRAAgile-JIRAConfiguration-Permissions says that to do that we need to removed the ability to edit or schedule issues form users.

The problem I have is that I want to allow developers to edit an issue but NOT add or remove it from a Sprint. Is this possible with the security schemes in Jira?

You can remove the Schedule Issue permission and keep the Edit Issue permission. Does that work?
