i am running JIRA 4.1. Recently we have decided to separate out customers from JIRA and purchase JIRA Service desk to be used by our Agents and Customers. What i need to know is if JIRA 4.1 is compatible with JIRA Service desk. All i am looking at this point is if i can link the JIRA 4.1 tickets with the ones in JIRA Service desk.
Both of the systems will be on different servers. can i know if this is possible or can be achieved in some way.
Yes, you will be able to link them, but it won't be anything more than a simple url link. Compatibility is irrelevant here really.
e.g. Service Desk Issue ABC-123 has something on it that says "see also https://ourjira4.1/browse/GHY-567" - it won't do anything more than give you a clickable link.
