Hello,
We are unable to complete the certificate request for our JIRA website.
We are using the steps as discriped on https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver071/running-jira-applications-over-ssl-or-https-802593051.html buth when we are trying to import the CA reply we get the error:
"Could not establish trust for the CA reply. The import cannot proceed."
The CA root certificates are imported in Portecle and have done the steps twice now buth no luck.
We also deleted the CA request and created a new one buth no luck.
Is there any one who can help us? Thanks in advance.
Hi Volodymyr,
We are not using a self-signed certificate, we purchased a certificate from GeoTrust.
We installed the root certificates from GeoTrust to Portecle as discriped in the JIRA website how to install SSL on JIRA.
The CSR request and CA reply are correct regarding to GeoTrust.
Never used GeoTrust certificates but I guess that you may need to install intermediate certificate. Actually it depends on cert type you purchased and for most cheap certificate you need to install intermediate certificate(s). Quick googling gives me this: https://knowledge.geotrust.com/support/knowledge-base/index?page=content&id=INFO1421 but you better check the instructions for the cert you have purchased.

Hi Danny,
Are you self-signing the certificate?
I see that Protecle shows this error when you try to import self signed certificates: https://sourceforge.net/p/portecle/bugs/8/.
You do not need to import self-signed certificates and the article that you linked has warning:
If using a self-signed certificate certificate, proceed to Configuring your web server using the JIRA configuration tool. Otherwise, continue on.
